The turkeys are fed a vegetarian mix feed that is comprised primarily of corn, soy beans, barley, and is free of animal bi-products. Their diets are also supplemented with fresh pasture grass and goodies from the garden.
Our Farm
Diparma Farms began as an effort to provide fresh poultry and eggs to our families. Located in Western Maryland and run by the two families of Diparma Lane, the farm is staffed by ducks, chickens, turkeys, and quail who help us keep our pastures fertilized, the grass neatly shorn, and the bug population under control.
Our chickens, turkeys, and ducks have unlimited access to the outdoors. Our Northern Bobwhite quail are kept in large flight pens and live as a colony in the grass where they graze and lay eggs.
Our Goal
Our goal is to put some of the best quality meat straight from our farm to your table. We raise our flocks naturally. This means our birds are hormone and antibiotic free and are never caged. Our belief in pasture farming has allowed us to provide our birds with fresh greens as we rotate them between pastures.
